WMF was founded in 1853 by Daniel Straub in Geislingen an der Steige, Germany. He was an engineer and visionary of his time, with a passion for precision, craftsmanship and design. For 170 years, WMF has nurtured its values and traditions, aligning them with pioneering innovations – always at the cutting edge of the times

Since 1853, we trust in the beauty and perfection of German metal crafting and we are proud of our unique technology Cromargan®. It was registered as a trademark in 1930 and is extremely robust and truly beautiful. In 2008 we refined this technology with Cromargan Protect® to elevate dining experiences.
